A rock concert like no other
Nearly a year ago, as a first year college student, I attempted to see Beatles vs. Stones - A Musical Showdown for the first time when Black Ice was just coming out. I had just enough to grab a ticket to the Chicago concert, the second show on the tour. We quietly whispered "Thunderstruck" to each other as lightning lit up the sky when we arrived at the Allstate arena. The guy in the truck, who seemed official, informed us that Beatles vs. Stones - A Musical Showdown had been the night before, and we had missed it by a day due to my excitement over having a ticket. Disgusted with myself, I regretted missing the show as it traveled around the globe. However, I later found tickets for a concert near me on their website and quickly bought one, borrowing money from friends. Sadly, my friend couldn't afford a ticket this time, so I went alone, but it was a night I'll always remember.
From the opening riff of Rock and Roll Train to Brian shouting "We salute you America!" at the end, this concert was unforgettable. The legendary Rockers gave their all that summer night, sounding as if they had just finished recording Black Ice. The show had everything you'd expect and more, from Brian swinging on the Hells Bells' Bell to Angus' epic guitar solo during Let There be Rock. The band members were having as much fun as the audience, making the experience even better. The surprises during the show, like bursts of fire during TNT and unique camera shots, added to the grandeur. Angus' performance was awe-inspiring, with the arena in a state of excitement. The show ended with Highway to Hell and For Those about to Rock, leaving me thinking that paying twice for one show was worth every penny.
